Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI want to get a general idea of where the beginning student is at. We will run through basic football position drills and concepts to get familiar with the game and how each position works. I will rely heavily on cardio drills and testing their conditioning and focus. The goal of the first lesson is to understand what the student’s skill set looks like and how it can be improved.
Lesson 11+At this point, the student should be well versed in the game of football and their own position. To truly get the full experience, I would recommend bringing in more competition where the student would engage in a “game scenario” against another individual. This makes it so the student can react to certain situations and use their skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities and learn new techniques on the fly.
Lesson 4-10After the first 3 lessons, the student should be knowledgeable of the game and understand the basics of their position. Now we will phase into learning and practicing full techniques with extensive drills and training for the student to excel at their position. I will include outside videos of players and coaches performing certain drills to ensure the student has a full range of skills needed.
Lesson 2-3After the first lesson, we will dive into the particular position the student wants to focus on. We will run through basic and more complex drills to help gauge the student when it comes to their knowledge and experience of this position. These lessons will still rely on cardio and conditioning, but will phase more into technique and practice.
