About your football coach

Though I’m fairly new to coaching, I’ve coached 2 years as of 2025, I’ve played and studied the game my entire life, playing Wide Out, Corner, and Safety. I coach ages 16 and older, beginners-elite players. (Football/Basketball) I bring a wide range of knowledge of the game, and a precise teaching of skill positions. I’m able to work my way of teaching around you, to cater better to your learning needs. In my playing days, I primarily played wideout and safety, yet I have a phenomenal understanding of just about every aspect of the game, and how to perform to your highest potential at your chosen position.

As a coach I’ve seen cobey grown in such a short time. I coach with him for UNF women’s flag football, at first he was our Defensive Coordinator. He took that roll seriously stayed up day and night to look/ come up with plays for his defense. He even did it during class. I’ve never seen a person so dedicated to his position as a coach as I seen him. After the season however he was released from Defensive Coordinator and instead of leaving and quitting on the program he decided to stay and be a player coach. Which gave him to time to figure out each player individually. And just like his previous position he took this position to heart as well and excelled. He knew every girl’s strengths and weaknesses, abilities, where they should or should be at on the field, and offense as well. In a year Cobey has learned every single position on that field, learned how to keep a cool head when things went south, and became someone that has earned everyone’s respect on the team. I can only see him growing more and more as a coach as the years go by. Definitely a 5/5 coach and would be the first person I would pick as a coach trying to rebuild or establish a program!

My overall rating for Coach Cobey would be 5/5 stars. Coach Cobey is very knowledgeable, well-spoken, and supportive. Having someone like him as one of my coaches brings a better overall mood to me and makes practices more enjoyable. He takes the time to explain things clearly, pushes me to improve, and is always encouraging while still holding high expectations. His coaching style motivates me to work harder and continue getting better. I truly feel that anyone would be very grateful to have Coach Cobey as a coach!

Cobey is a personal friend of mine, and though I don’t plan to take football super serious as I only play in my intramural league , I can’t express how much I’ve learned via him. He’s been able to quickly explain how to play quarterback and how to properly read defenses, when to get rid of the ball, etc. He’s helped me on my throwing motion, as well as when to check the ball down when I get pressured.

I haven’t played much football, but Cobey has helped me understand wide receiver and how to play it. Good coach!

i think cobey’s a great coach. He’s easy to communicate with and actually cares about the players that aren’t “stars” in a head coach’s eyes. He’s put in lot of time and dedication, and if he left the program, i wouldn’t feel as comfort as a player knowing an advocating voice would be gone

Honestly I feel like Cobey’s a great coach and he gets better every season. He’s very personable with the girls and myself. He’s done a great job at seeing what does and doesn’t work and applying it to the game to actually make the changes needed to be successful. He’ll answer any questions any of the girls have and he does a good job at analysing people in practice so you can give them affective advice on what they can work on.
