About your drum coach
I hold a degree from Berklee College of Music and I’ve spent the last two decades developing students both privately and through instructional environments. My teaching style is rooted in practical application—helping drummers develop time, feel, consistency, and versatility across genres including country, rock, funk, blues, R&B, pop, and fusion. I also emphasize preparation for professional scenarios such as click-track performance, touring expectations, and studio efficiency.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonProper stick holding and different grips and approaches along with basic strokes or attacks on a drum surface/practice pad. Everything starts on the practice pad learning to read basic rhythm notation.
Lesson 2-3Reinforcement of basic strokes and attacks and continuing to progress through different subdivisions of notation. Depending on the individual, we can also learn how to read for drum set and how the rhythms learned translate directly to playing the drum set.
Lesson 4-10Learning basic rudiments, learning basic rock/pop beats. Learning to play along to songs and learning it all by reading the rhythms inorder to have a strong foundation of understanding what exactly is being played.
Lesson 11+Continuation of reading and playing. But also the introduction of techniques that will be practiced and learned to the extent the student wishes to take it.
What you need to bringStudents should bring sticks and learning materials such as books, sheets or music. Bluetooth Ear buds also required to have for drum set instruction.
What I can bringLessons at my house will be held on my DW or Yamaha drum kit. Out of house lessons will be held on supplied drum set.
