Your first lessonStart with the basics of rhythm and body awareness. Teach simple weight shifts, basic footwork patterns, and how to feel the beat. Keep it playful—use music they love and celebrate every small win. End with a short, easy combination they can feel proud of & take home to enjoy and practice!
Lesson 11+Focus shifts to quality over quantity. Refine turns, improve balance, work on musical interpretation and emotional connection. Introduce choreography they can perform. Encourage them to explore different styles and find what resonates. These lessons are about transformation—from beginner to confident dancer with their own unique style.
Lesson 4-10Each lesson introduces new elements: levels (high/low), dynamics (sharp/smooth), floor work, partnering basics, or style-specific techniques. Mix learning with creative exploration—let them add their own flair. Build longer combinations and introduce performance concepts like eye contact and stage presence. By lesson 10, they should have several go-to moves and feel comfortable freestyling!
Lesson 2-3Introduce transitional steps and direction changes. Work on connecting movements smoothly and staying on beat. Add arm styling and basic turns. These lessons bridge isolated moves into flowing sequences. They’ll start to feel like a “real dancer” here!
