It's always best to start at the beginning, and that is how to hold both the yarn and the hook! Once that is solid, we'll put the two together and learn how to control tension with the chain stitch. We'll make sure you're relaxed and confident coming out of this lesson!
Remaining lessons will be guided by the student, curated to what they want to learn - from designing garments to making keychains, they'll lead the way!
Subsequent lessons will incorporate learning useful stitches and stitch patterns to make handmade items, how to add crochet to clothing for upcycled looks, how to read crochet patterns, how to follow YouTube videos, and beyond!
Lesson two will quickly reiterate holding the hook & yarn and a chain stitch, then will move to single crochet stitches and continuing to manage tension.
Next, we will focus on a handful of basic stitches - slip stitch, half-double crochet, double crochet, and revisit single crochet.
In lesson 3, we will start putting those stitches to work!
Students will learn how to work both in the back-and-forth style, and in the round, as well as increasing and decreasing stitches.
