About your cricket coach
I have played cricket since age 9, with 20+ years of experience across India, the UK, and the US. I represented my city at U-15, U-17, and U-19 levels, played Division 1 cricket in the Durham Cricket League, and competed in the Massachusetts State Cricket League. I’m a batting all-rounder with strong fundamentals in spin, pace bowling, and fielding. I help kids and young adults build technique, confidence, and game awareness.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI start by making the beginner comfortable with the basics of cricket: how to hold the bat, basic stance, grip, body position, and simple hand-eye coordination drills. I also explain safety, the goal of batting, bowling, and fielding, then assess their current ability so future lessons can be planned around their level.
Lesson 11+The remaining lessons focus on becoming a more complete cricketer. We will refine batting technique, improve bowling accuracy or variation, sharpen fielding, and build match confidence through realistic drills and game situations. The goal is for the beginner to understand cricket better, play with confidence, and continue improving independently.
Lesson 4-10The beginner can expect to learn more structured cricket skills, including front-foot and back-foot batting, basic defensive and attacking shots, bowling line and length, fielding technique, catching, ground fielding, and game awareness. We will also start correcting habits and helping them understand when and why to use different skills in a match.
Lesson 2-3The beginner can expect to build the core fundamentals of cricket. We will review stance, grip, and basic movement, then work on simple batting shots, catching, throwing, and basic bowling action. These lessons focus on repetition, balance, timing, and developing confidence with the bat and ball.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids, I keep cricket lessons fun, simple, and encouraging. I use short drills, clear demonstrations, and games to help them learn batting, bowling, catching, and throwing without feeling overwhelmed. I focus on safety, confidence, teamwork, and building good habits step by step.
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I make lessons more structured and goal-focused. I work on improving their cricket technique, match awareness, fitness, and confidence under pressure. Lessons can include batting plans, bowling accuracy, fielding intensity, and realistic game situations based on their level and goals.
What you need to bringStudents should bring their own cricket kit if they have one, especially younger players who need junior-size equipment. This includes their own bat, gloves, pads, helmet, box/abdo guard, and any personal protective gear. They should also bring comfortable sports clothing, trainers or cricket shoes, and water.
What I can bringI can provide some adult-size cricket equipment from my own kit, including a bat and batting gloves. Students are welcome to try these during lessons if the size is suitable. I can also bring basic training equipment for drills, such as balls and cones.
