Your first lessonI will ask you about your goals with the cello. We will go over the basics of parts of the instrument and instrument care. We will start with holding the cello, setup and posture. Then learn the names of the open strings and how to pluck. I like to start in the book “Essential Elements for cello vol. 1”. We will play through some simple exercises that will start us on beginning music reading.
Lesson 2-3We will learn to pluck the notes in the first positions on the A and D strings, and start to learn to play with the bow on open strings
Lesson 4-10We will practice using the left and right hands together and be able to play a D major scale and some simple tunes
Lesson 11+Play more and more tunes, scales and exercises
