Beginner training plan
Your first lessonOur first lesson together will focus heavily on footwork and defense to get you comfortable moving in a boxing stance. Also expect to focus on form work to understand proper punching technique so you don’t hurt yourself. Head movement will also be incorporated during combos and as workouts itself. If the student is left or right handed I emphasize on working bout stances from the beginning.
Lesson 11+Advanced combos will be taught where the student is switching stances in various ways ie: rolling into switching stance, slipping into switching stance, and switching stance while moving laterally. Advanced combos also include feints, head movement, counters and lateral movement
Lesson 4-10More advanced footwork and defense techniques will be included and you’ll learn how to punch and walk at the same time. Advanced head movement techniques will also be introduced and the student will learn how to switch stances to fight in orthodox or southpaw.
Lesson 2-3Sessions always begin with warm up exercises and stretches that will go along with the drills we do. We will continue on footwork and defense because your footwork is just as important as punching in boxing. We’ll also begin on combos and stringing punches together with counters and feints.
