Focus: Basic dribbling, passing, footwork, and layups
• Warm-up (10 min): Dynamic stretches, jump rope, and defensive slides
• Ball Handling (15 min):
• Stationary dribbling: Pound dribbles, crossovers, between-the-legs, behind-the-back
• Moving dribbles: Zig-zag dribble with both hands
• Passing (10 min):
• Chest passes, bounce passes, overhead passes (against a wall or with a partner)
• Finishing (15 min):
• Right and left-hand layups
• Mikan drill
• Footwork (10 min):
• Jump stops, pivoting, triple-threat positioning
• Conditioning (10 min):
• Sprint and backpedal drills, suicides
Week 3: Shooting & Game Situations
Focus: Mid-range shooting, shot mechanics, decision-making
• Warm-up (10 min): Dynamic stretches, high knees, butt kicks
• Shooting Form (15 min):
• One-hand form shooting (close range)
• Spot shooting (elbows, wings, top of the key)
• Game Situations (15 min):
• Pick-and-roll reads (pass, shoot, attack)
• Decision-making drill (coach gives verbal cues)
• 1-on-1 Finishing (10 min):
• Attack the defender, read help, and finish
• Defense & Footwork (10 min):
• Closeouts, help-side rotations
• Conditioning (10 min):
• Full-court layup drill, suicide sprints
Focus: Reading defenders, passing under pressure, on-ball defense
• Warm-up (10 min): Agility ladder, lateral shuffles, jump rope
• Dribbling & Reaction (15 min):
• Change-of-speed dribbles
• Reaction dribble (coach/partner signals move)
• Passing with Pressure (10 min):
• Partner passing with a defender (defender adds light pressure)
• Defensive Drills (15 min):
• Stance & slides
• Closeout drills
• 1-on-1 full-court defense
• Finishing (10 min):
• Reverse layups, floater drill
• Conditioning (10 min):
• Defensive slides, sprint-back transitions
