Beginner training plan
Your first lessonBall Handling & Court Awareness (The Foundation) Focus: Getting comfortable with the basketball and establishing an athletic stance. Warm-up: Finger taps, ball wraps (around the head, waist, and knees) to build hand-eye coordination.
Lesson 11+Defensive Fundamentals & Integration Focus: Defensive stance, lateral movement, and putting the first three lessons together. Warm-up: Defensive slides across the width of the court (or park). Emphasize staying low, keeping the chest up, and not crossing their feet.
Lesson 4-10 Passing, Catching, and Footwork Focus: Moving the ball efficiently and establishing a pivot foot. Warm-up: Chest passes and bounce passes back and forth. Emphasize stepping into the pass and snapping the thumbs down.
Lesson 2-3Shooting Mechanics & Layup Footwork Focus: Introducing the B.E.E.F. principle (Balance, Eyes, Elbow, Follow-through) and finishing near the basket.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonElite Ball Handling & Pressure Navigation Focus: Creating space, absorbing contact, and breaking down elite defenders off the dribble. Warm-up: 2-ball dynamic dribbling (alternating, high-low, moving crossovers) to overload the nervous system and force the eyes up.
Lesson 11+Defensive Schemes & Verticality Focus: Locking down the perimeter, navigating screens defensively, and protecting the rim without fouling. Warm-up: Full-court zig-zag defensive slides, reacting instantly to the ball handler's changes of direction.
Lesson 4-10Pick-and-Roll Reads & Playmaking Focus: Manipulating the defense, making high-level reads, and delivering passes in tight windows. Warm-up: One-handed live dribble passing (push passes and hook passes) hitting targets perfectly in the shooting pocket.
Lesson 2-3Advanced Shot Creation & Footwork Focus: Shooting off the move, shooting under fatigue, and mastering advanced footwork for separation. Warm-up: Form shooting with an emphasis on a lightning-quick release and high arc, immediately followed by catch-and-shoot reps moving block to block.

Youth players
Working with kidsFor younger players, the goal is to build a love for the game while establishing rock-solid habits. Attention spans are shorter, so drills need to be fast-paced, game-like, and highly encouraging.

Working with teenagersWhen training middle school and high school athletes—whether running a scholastic program, coaching an 8th-grade team, or prepping players for the club circuit—the intensity ramps up. Teenagers need to understand the "why" behind every movement to buy into the training.

Coach Que doesn’t just teach you how to shoot; he teaches you how to see the game. With over 13 years of experience as both a coach and an official, he brings a deep understanding of the rules and court flow that you won't find anywhere else. My son’s basketball IQ has skyrocketed since we started training.
Sarah J., AAU Parent
The focus on being a 'Complete Player' is what sets this training apart. Que emphasizes the fundamentals while building the mental toughness needed for competitive play. Whether it’s high-intensity drills or technical footwork, the professional insight he brings from the middle school and academy levels is unmatched.
David L., Parent
Finding a trainer who can adapt to every player’s unique needs is rare. Coach Que has a gift for connecting with athletes, including those who need a more specialized, patient approach. His 1-on-1 sessions have given my child a level of confidence on and off the court that I didn't think was possible
Mya T., Parent
Coach Que brings a level of expertise that only comes from over a decade in the game. He knows exactly what is required at the middle school and academy levels to get noticed. If you want your player to be truly prepared for the jump to the next level, this is the best investment you can make
Kristine Evans
We couldn’t be happier with Coach Ques! His knowledge of basketball is incredible, but what really sets him apart is his patience. He takes the time to make sure my child actually understands the mechanics behind what they are doing. The skill development we’ve seen in such a short time has been amazing. Highly recommend him to any parent looking for a dedicated coach
