About your basketball coach

With over two decades of experience in basketball as both a player and a coach, I possess a deep passion for the sport and a commitment to developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the court. My coaching philosophy focuses on personalized training that enhances skill development, strengthens basketball IQ, and fosters lasting confidence through discipline, effort, and mentorship. My basketball journey has taken me around the world and through various levels of competition. I was honored to be named the Knights of Columbus Free Throw State Champion in 2017 and went on to earn a bronze medal in 3v3 basketball at the AAU Jr. Olympics in 2019. I proudly represented Team USA in the U19 United World Games in Germany, Austria, and Italy in 2022, and again in Argentina in 2023. In 2024, I reached a significant milestone by playing professionally with the Louisiana Kajun Gators in the NBL-US. Through these experiences, basketball has taught me more than just how to play; it has instilled in me valuable lessons about leadership, perseverance, teamwork, and character. These are the lessons I bring to every coaching session and every athlete I mentor. Whether you are a beginner working on fundamentals or an advanced player preparing for the next level, I am here to help you elevate both your game and your mindset.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is about building trust, confidence, and comfort. I focus on getting to know the student, understanding their goals, and teaching basic fundamentals at a slow, supportive pace. I keep the environment positive, encouraging, and pressure-free so they feel safe to learn and ask questions.
Lesson 11+In remaining lessons, students will work on refining skills, building consistency, and pushing past mental and physical limits. I focus on accountability, confidence, and helping each student reach their personal best. These lessons are about growth, discipline, and becoming the best version of themselves.
Lesson 4-10From lessons four through ten students will begin to gain confidence, improve coordination, and handle more structured drills. I will challenge them at an appropriate level while still offering support and guidance. Discipline, focus, and self-belief will be strongly developed during this stage.
Lesson 2-3In lessons two and three, students will start learning basic skills, simple drills, and proper technique. I will reinforce discipline, listening skills, and effort while continuing to encourage them. These lessons focus on consistency, understanding, and building a strong foundation.

Youth players
Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I adapt my lessons by balancing structure, accountability, and encouragement. I understand that teens are developing physically, mentally, and emotionally, so I focus on clear expectations, consistency, and respect. I explain the purpose behind drills so they stay engaged and motivated, while also allowing room for questions and self-expression. I challenge teenagers appropriately by increasing responsibility, leadership, and independence as they progress. I emphasize discipline, confidence, and self-belief, while reinforcing positive habits both on and off the field. My goal is to help teens build strong skills, emotional control, and confidence that carry over into everyday life.

What you need to bringEach student must bring their own basketball to every practice. β€’ Ages 5–8: Size 27.5 basketball β€’ Ages 9–12: Size 28.5 basketball β€’ Ages 13 and up: Size 29.5 basketball Students should also bring at least two drinks to stay hydrated during practice. It’s important to come already hydrated, focused, and ready to give your best effort. Every practice is a chance to learn, improve, and have fun, so come prepared to work hard and play hard!

What I can bringI can provide agility ladders, small footwork cones, jump ropes, and a regular basketball. This equipment supports basic skill development and conditioning, and I plan to expand my equipment collection over time.
