Basketball is a beautiful game! I have played most of my life, including collegiately. I’ve coached at the Boys and Girls Club as a volunteer and have helped many kids to find the fun in basketball. I put the fun in “fundamentals”! If you learn to dribble, pass, shoot and defend, it’s a fluid and fun game. I encourage anybody to learn! Let’s have some fun and become the best baller we can be!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonLet’s see what you know! Can you dribble, can you shoot? Can you catch a ball? First lesson is to see where you are at. Adjust forward. Do you know what blocking out is? Bounce pass? Chest pass? Etc…
Lesson 11+This is the hardest. It’s defense. Should probably be the first lesson but defense is not flashy. Plain and simple, if you can play defense, you’ll create the offense. Defense wins championships in Basketball
Lesson 4-10Once here, there’s some intense drills. The spider, the double legs, and the juggle. There’s a lot more, but it’s mostly hand eye coordination ending in a pure shot.
Lesson 2-3Depending on your skill level, we can work on different shooting drills with specific parts of the court, the free throw line, the elbow, the block, and of course the all popular 3 pointer. If you’re not strong enough, we will make our own court! ( I have lowered goals!)
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWhy are you here? If you’re advanced, what are you looking for? Let me see your shot. A couple shooting drills. Can you dribble without a carry? Can you do the fundamentals of the sport without traveling or being sloppy?
Lesson 11+See how you’ve improved by getting you in a legit pro pickup game with pros I Know.
Lesson 4-10We will get you in some pickup games. The goal of these will be a focus of playing defense and assists on offense. Not scoring.
Lesson 2-3Play me at horse. Make 10 free throws in a row. Can’t leave until you do. (Trust me, it’s not that easy)
Youth players
Working with kidsStart simple. 3 things keep kids interested 1) shooting 2) dribbling 3) passing.
Also a few fundamentals of the game.
Working with teenagersThis is make or break time. You’re a teenager. I can teach you how to be vital for your team. I’ll need to see some skills and we will ensure you see the floor! Let’s find what you’re good at!
What you need to bringCome as you are! Flip flops are probably not the best idea;)
What I can bringI’ll bring whatever you need. I’d recommend the student having a ball that they like and are used to. The ball, Afterall, is the name of the game!
