Beginner training plan
Your first trainingTeach: finger pads, waist-low, off-hand protects, eyes up.
Do: stationary pounds (right/left), then walking dribbles.
Cue: “Push the ball to the floor—don’t slap it.”
Training 2-3Teach: jump stop → pick a pivot foot → pivot without traveling.
Do it without defense first, then add light pressure.
Simple rule: “One foot is the nail—turn around it.”
Training 4-10Teach: knees bent, feet shoulder-width, eyes up, ball protected.
Triple threat = shoot / pass / dribble from the same position.
Quick cue: “Chin up, ball tight, ready to go.”
Training 11+Teach footwork: right-hand layup = left-right-up, left-hand = right-left-up.
Start close, slow, and build to game speed.
Cue: “Big step, big step, gentle finish.”
