Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson will be a skill assessment, followed by drills that correlate to weaknesses within one’s game.
Lesson 11+At this stage of our training, we will be working on shooting off the dribble, as well as pull up jumpers. (Lessons will vary per individual, based on their specific needs and abilities).
Lesson 4-10These lessons will be heavily catered to shot form and shooting off the catch, as well as off screens. Footwork will be key during these workouts. (Lessons will vary per individual, based on their specific needs and abilities).
Lesson 2-3During these lessons, you can expect a heavy dose of ball handling drills/drills that allow the player to move freely with the ball and understand dribbling lanes. Defensive footwork and rebounding will also be essential. (Lessons will vary per individual, based on their specific needs and abilities).
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with children, the drills will be adaptable to all ages from young to teenage years. I’ve coached the YMCA, as well as high school basketball, so I have a great understanding of what’s needed at either age. The drills will vary depending on the skill set of the individual.
Working with teenagersThe lessons for teenagers will be a little higher intensity than the children’s workouts. These lessons will incorporate more running, as the individual will be required to run more in basketball at their age.
