Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe will start with a lot of dribbling drills to get comfortable with the basics. In terms of shooting, we’ll start with very close range shooting to ensure you have good form before we start trying longer range shots. I can also help with the basics of defense if the player is interested.
Lesson 11+Shooting form should be good now so we can stretch out to longer shots if capable. Work on dribbling and shoot drills with cones. Can maybe even play some one on one!
Lesson 4-10Start working on dribbling with two balls to get more comfortable with general ball handling. Start doing some cone drills with dribbling as well. Still working on the form, but trying to do some more movement: dribbling into shots, run to a catch and shoot.
Lesson 2-3More of the same from the first. Dribbling drills will get progressively advanced. Still very close range shooting until the form looks good to which we’ll expand to free throws and mid range jump shots
What you need to bringNothing, unless you have a favorite ball to use!
What I can bringHappy to bring a ball if needed. Can also bring cones for drills
