My passion for basketball has only grown in my 10 years of coaching. I thrive on cultivating young talent and helping players reach their full potential, both on and off the court. Let's connect and elevate your game! If you are willing to put the work in, I will get you there I am a history teacher and Varsity Head BBall Coach. I am 6'5" and specialize in helping kids with size learn how to move their feet as well as how to take advantage of their size, both popping the tre and putting it on the floor and finishing over smaller players. On the flip side, I have also mastered how to teach ballers lacking in size to find space and see the court to open up the midrange game and the tre, or just dribble hesi and finish through the big with contact. If you want to learn how to ball with the toughness of the old days mixed with the new beautiful game of logo shooters, then let's get you there. Grit, tenacity, dropping that 3 ball, grabbing boards, running transition.....all really important skills that I can help you with! I played bball and football in HS and in the Marine Corps.....as well as in leuges and on A courts in Newport on 32nd street, Milesquare, Venice, the Arc at UCI, etc. I attended UCI on a full ride academic scholarship and was approached by the head coach as he wanted me on the squad to help his 7 footer develop. I declined but still played with them often. If I want it more than I do, there is a problem....how bad do you want it? I can only show you the path. You have to walk it!

This is from my shooting guard....I watched this kid go from playing bball because his friend asked him to, to dropping 3's on bigger, stronger kids. "To be honest I think your a really good coach if it wasn’t for you I would not learn the stuff or be who I am today I probably would not have the scoring capabilityI now have ( shooting 3's), you lead us to an undefeated record of 11-1. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFrom the bottom up. Footwork, Correct Shooting Form, How to Rebound, How to Pass.......basic FUNDAMENTALS. YOU WILL RUN, YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO STAY SAFE, YOU WILL LEARN HOW TO BELONG ON A COURT!!!!!! From the ground up, I can teach anyone how 2 play bball. There is no secret method. The method is finding what motivates the player. Teaching and Coaching are very similar. Unfortunately, it takes work to get to the next level. If you work for me, I will get you where you want to be without question!
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonHave them show you their warmup routine. Their jumpshot......crossover, hops, handles.....push them a bit in conditioning to see if they have heart. It all depends on what they want?
Lesson 11+A focus on excellence and the development of a self training regiment that will continue to grow their game.
Lesson 4-10To be dog tired and to have learned what it is they need to work on to get to the next level.
Lesson 2-3To get down and dirty focusing on the things that tbey can improve on. Again, all players are different. There is no one training method for all. Older mkre mature players expect to be respected and given drills that will make them better. But, if they are 7 foot and only score because their size then we got some work to do.
Youth players
Working with kidsKids are bball players, too. Inject some fun, a sense of humor, and not take it so seriously that it negatively affects the kids life is the key. Some kids go hard, some need some time and patience.
