Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIntroduce the fundamentals: dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and teamwork. Explain that progress comes with patience, practice, and discipline.
Lesson 11+Put everything together in a controlled game setting. Emphasize teamwork, communication, and applying skills learned. Encourage players to reflect on progress and set goals.
Lesson 4-10Work on layups, shooting form, defensive stance, and footwork. Add simple offensive plays and spacing on the court. Introduce rebounding and basic team drills. Gradually increase intensity and scrimmages.
Lesson 2-3Focus on basic dribbling with both hands. Teach pivoting, jump stops, and simple passes (chest, bounce, overhead). Build confidence moving with the ball.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonQuickly review dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense under pressure. Emphasize precision, speed, and decision-making.
Lesson 11+Run full-court scrimmages with situational drills. Analyze decision-making, teamwork, and execution. Set personal and team goals for continued improvement.
Lesson 4-10Focus on shooting off the dribble, mid-range and three-point accuracy. Improve defensive rotations, help defense, and rebounding technique. Introduce complex plays, pick-and-rolls, and fast-break execution.
