About your basketball coach

I've played basketball professionally for over a decade, six of which were spent overseas. During that time, I learned a lot about how to help young players improve their game. I am extremely passionate about basketball and love helping players reach their goals. My coaching philosophy centers around fostering a growth mindset, developing fundamental skills, cultivating a dog mentality, and building a deep love for basketball. Let's work together to unlock your potential on the court!

➕WBBL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonStart with goal setting. Get to know the player and ask what they want to accomplish out of these lessons. After discussing goals we will do Baseline ball handling and shooting drills so I can assess what skill level they are currently at.
Lesson 11+Continuous growth and improvement of fundamentals, but also getting to be more fun and creative with drills.
Lesson 4-10Confidence! Can start to feel and see improvement in their game. I like to keep shot charts so that players can see progress. 1v1 competitions will be incorporated along with more advanced drills to grow players skill set after fundamentals have been established.
Lesson 2-3A lot of ball handling, footwork, and shooting break down drills. Have to build from the ground up to make sure skills are being properly developed.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonTalk about developmental goals. I am a big believer in writing down goals to make sure we are progressing in the right direction and to make sure players are getting the most out of these sessions. Baseline drills will be done to evaluate players current skill level.
Lesson 11+Continual growth. Once initial goals have been met we will reshape them and work towards new ones.
Lesson 4-10Expectations and standards are higher. Players will probably be frustrated because i will challenge them to the best of my ability. Everything will be done with a game speed mentality. Each lesson will build on from the previous one.
Lesson 2-3Drills will be focused on making sure that the skills being developed are done so properly and not glazed over. Pace of play will not be as intense.

Youth players
Working with kidsFor kids I try and do drills that improve their overall physical literacy. At this stage it is about building basic skills and knowledge of basketball, but also making sure that they are having fun.

Working with teenagersTalk about individual goals and based on their response make drills challenging to the point where it pushes them in those areas. Encourage and motivate them in a way that makes them feel confident in their abilities.

What you need to bringWater bottle, basketball shoes, and if the student needs a men’s basketball that will need to be brought.

What I can bringI have women’s basketballs (28.5) and cones.

Will
I took lessons with Coach Elle for a summer. My goal was to be able to play pick up at the gym without completely embarrassing myself. Elle was great and helped me with my shot and ball handling! I would have kept working with her but I moved out of town :(
Jazz
Coach Elle helped me with my shot. I am older and a total newbie to basketball and she was very gentle and fun to work with. I was nervous for my lessons because of my skill level but Elle was very nice during our sessions.
Jordan
Coach Elle was kind and patient and really helped me work on my fundamentals. I had a lot of fun during our lessons and was very pleased with my progress.
Addison
Coach Elle helped me with my post game. She helped me get my footwork right and helped me develop my non-dominant hand!
Katie
I loved working with Coach Elle. She pushed me and helped me find another level in my game. The only reason why I’m not giving her 5 stars is because I hated the “prizes” she would give in her lessons.
