About your basketball coach
Andrew Wenz is a basketball coach specializing in player development, skill progression, and basketball IQ. As a varsity assistant at Wauwatosa East, he has helped develop athletes on a state championship program. A former head coach at Cudahy, he rebuilt the program while focusing on individual growth and confidence, preparing players for success on and off the court. Can train guards, post, shooters, and defenders.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI like to move at pace that is comfortable for a player. We will spend some time going over basic fundamental’s that build the foundation of every basketball player. Also, I want your early basketball experiences to be enjoyable, so we will do some active drills that keep you engaged.
Lesson 11+We will really ramp up on those fundamentals and keep adding in new moves, one dribble pull-ups, work on how to get open, we will work on playing through a small amount of contact, and start to work on position-based drills.
Lesson 4-10We will have a few drills in place that will make many of the fundamental’s taught in the first lesson feel more natural. We will spend a lot of time on form shooting. Working on footwork in the triple threat. I will help you get more confident using your dribble getting to the basket. I will also help incorporate effective moves into your dribbling that will be useful when you are playing away from training.
Lesson 2-3We will keep building on those fundamentals and focus on form shooting and footwork. We will strengthen your triple threat stance that will help you feel more comfortable and confident when you play on your own.
