Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI will focus on core fundamentals:
-Ball Handling
—Basic Dribbling
—Control Drills
-Shooting Mechanics
—Teach proper form
—Repetition
-Passing
—Teach chest, bounce, and overhead passing
—Emphasize accuracy and catching with two hands
-Footwork & Defense
—Defensive stance
—Lateral movement drills
—Closeout drills
Lesson 11+We will then start game-like scenarios and expanding our knowledge of the game. Integrate more difficult drills to enhance the students’ skills and development.
Lesson 4-10By this time, we will work on faster/more experienced drills. Using cones for dibbling drills and finishing with layups/jump shots.
Lesson 2-3I would then build confidence though repetition on our current workouts. Expanding to more experienced skills with each workout.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI will first examine their current skill level and figure out what the athlete’s goal(s) are. I will do a series of drills to evaluate their basketball skill.
Lesson 11+Now that we have a solid foundation set for the athlete. We will focus on their weaknesses and their specific basketball “role” to help develop them into a high-school / collegiate key basketball player.
