Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWork on hand/ball positioning (fixing the had position when shooting), introduce Fire Drill (works on positioning ourselves better with defense and learning on how to take charges), defense/offensive clinic (works on ways to stop the ball on defense and what plays will work through offense to score).
Lesson 11+Dribble passes (working with the right-hand first with keeping control of the ball and only passing with the right-hand and switch over to the left), shuffle passes (starting on the baseline and pass back and forth while shuffling their feet w/o crossing them over to the half court), position shooting (starting in the baseline, the ball will be thrown at a certain spot with letting the ball bounce twice to get their feet set and shot ready), elbow shooting (making 5 shots each on the R/L elbow and finishing the last shot with a right/left-handed layup)
Lesson 4-10Start on Mike-in Ike’s (a drill that involves being able to finish with the left and right hand for layups), free-throw rhythm (creating a better routine and rhythm for their shot at the FT line), dribble pounds (working on keeping control of the ball with their ball handling; i.e. start with the right-hand dribbles, stationary crossovers with R/L hand, behind the back, and start over with the left-hand dribbles)
Lesson 2-3Work on ball handling with movement (pound the ball with right/left hand, crossovers from left to right, etc), Stop and shoot (work on dribbling into your shot; mid-range/3-pointers), and finishing drill (driving into the lane and finishing with contact or through traffic)

Youth players
Working with kidsBy working on the basics and stationary things (dribbling with one hand, learning on how to position the ball for their shots, and finishing layups).

Working with teenagersBy working on shot selection, ball handling, and defense (going through game-like scenarios and learning on what’s a good/bad shot selection, keeping control of the ball with pressure and keeping their hands up when dribbling, and making sure that we are in a defense stance during the defensive position while learning how to communicate with defense as well).

What you need to bringBasketball shoes, a change of shoes (preferably crocs or slides), water and/or Gatorade.

What I can bring3-5 basketballs for the lesson/day.

Coach taught me how to really show up for my team. He gave me a lot of tips, moves to work on, and we even broke down scouting reports together on the bigs I had to guard. He always kept the main goal the main goal. Off the court, he helped me grow as a person and taught me how to stay composed. Coach was like one of my homies β€” we could talk about anything, good or bad. He was always there for me.

Coach E is amazing bringing energy, knowledge, and dedication to every practice and game. He pushes us to be our best while also supporting us as individuals, making sure everyone improves and feels confident on and off the court. His ability to teach skills, build teamwork, and keep us motivated has made a huge difference in both our performance and our love for the game.
