Hi everyone! My name is Seth Platt and I have been coaching youth baseball for 6 seasons now. I played baseball through high school as well as summer team currently. My specialities are infield work and hitting as well as the fundamentals of the game.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI would focus on the basics so I can gauge the skill level of the player. Playing catch, seeing what their technique of throwing and catching looks like. Then the hitting would focus on tee work and some front flips.
Lesson 2-3Second and third lessons would be more focused on what I believe they would need the most work in. I would also implement some infield work like ground balls and pops as well as making a throw to first base. The hitting would start the same way and progress to overhand flips and some full batting practice with me pitching live.
Lesson 4-10These lessons would be focused on getting as many reps as possible so that everything that was worked on in the first few sessions becomes a second nature to them. This is where I can introduce some competitions to make it feel more game like for the player and give them an incentive to keep working hard.
Lesson 11+From the remaining lessons a beginner should expect to feel very comfortable with their craft and i would want the player to have some ideas that they feel they need to continue work on so i can help them with those. I want the player to have a great understanding of their abilities and a newfound confidence.
Youth players
Working with kidsBecause I’ve coached kids for awhile I know that they need lots of energy from their coach and not have very much downtime while we’re working to keep them focused on the task at hand. I want the kids to have lots of fun with what we’re doing so that they will want to work more on it on their own as well.
What you need to bringStudents should bring a glove, and any hitting equipment they have like batting gloves, a helmet and a bat.
What I can bringI will provide the baseballs, a hitting net/screen, and anything else extra we might use.
