About your baseball coach

With two decades on the diamond, I blend proven techniques with personalization to unlock each player's potential. I had less than ideal genetics to throw hard and play in college, standing in at five feet four inches. Getting my fastball up to 94 mph took years of hard work and finding what worked and what didn’t. I’d love to spread the knowledge that I obtained going through that journey and help you avoid some mistakes that I made to help you reach your goals not just faster but also getting you there healthy as well.

Accomplishments

➕5 years as a coach most of that being individual skills training

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen teaching kids being patient is the biggest key to me . They have nothing but time to figure out some of the things being taught. Engagement is also crucial , keeping things fun like doing competitions or keeping some sort of score in drills keeps them more engaged. Teaching the importance of hard work and having good routine to do while trying to develop skills on their own is my main objective when teaching younger kids. Giving them drills that they should do on their own , teaching them out of common bad habits in mechanics (such as stepping away from the ball while swinging or flying completely open with the glove arm when throwing ) and not over coaching to where they become “robotic” and allow them to build and use their athleticism are also key objectives.

Working with teenagersWith teenagers more than likely they are more engaged than younger kids and therefore there is less emphasis on engagement but at the same time for repeat clients we will do some sort of “challenge round” or test if they are doing better at a certain skill. ( such as hitting off a machine speed that is challenging and seeing how many hard hits you have in a certain amount of tries or trying to hit a certain spot with a certain pitch as many times as you can in a certain amount of tries) . When working with older players more advanced drills and techniques are introduced as well as some time dedicated to “athletic development “ such as jumps , sprints , etc.

What you need to bringA bat for hitting lesson , glove for fielding or pitching lesson , appropriate footwear cleats outside and athletic shoes for indoors. I can provide gloves and bats sometimes if I have one that is the appropriate size but if you have those things it is preferred to bring them.

What I can bringI can provide any training aid that I think is appropriate and necessary for each lesson.
