Kip Gross, there are so many great things to say about this guy that I don’t know where to begin. Our family has had the pleasure of knowing Kip for nearly 10 years. It all started back in 2015 when I brought my 8 year old son (Ethan) to him to work on his swing. Over the many years, Kip instilled in him and continually reinforced the fundamentals of hitting, pitching, and fielding to expand his knowledge base and increase his baseball IQ. During his weekly lessons, they would discuss the game, various baseball scenarios and a little physics (swing mechanics). Every week Kip’s cell phone would be flooded with videos of Ethan pitching or hitting. Kip always took the time to review his videos and respond with things that were working or not working and would make adjustments when needed in his lessons. Additionally, Ethan’s arm health was excellent when working with Kip which is always a huge concern these days with all the new gimmicks or latest trends. Kip would always give it to you straight and tell you the dos and don’ts which we appreciated. Kip is a one of a kind coach not only because he has lived the game, but he is an excellent teacher, person and is devoted to making his students better not only in baseball but in life. He builds their confidence in the game and has a special connection with his students so that they trust the process and grow in the game. Kip is charismatic, observant, detail oriented, demanding, helpful, trusting, and compassionate which are all qualities in a coach that are needed to build and develop athletes. Ethan like any player, had ups and downs in baseball over the last 10 years but he could always count on Kip to work through the kinks to get back on track and knew the right things to say to lift him up. To this day, people always comment on Ethans swing saying he has a beautiful swing and his pitching mechanics are strong yet deceptive. If you ask Ethan how to describe Kip in two words, he will tell you Kip is Baseball Yoda.
