Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI like to start by asking the player questions and develop a game plan based on their experience, athleticism, strength, and knowledge. If the player is new to baseball, I like to start from the ground up. Try to watch and evaluate their natural fielding instincts, hand eye coordination, and hitting technique. Then start making adjustments in the basic motions of fielding and hitting. Introduce fundamentals and basic techniques. Tell them what my expectations are when coming to practice and set ground rules.
Lesson 11+Keep building and developing the fundamentals and techniques. You should start to see improvement in your child’s confidence as they will be more familiar with the drills and techniques.
Lesson 4-10The player should have a better understanding of the practice routine and start to make improvements on their fundamental skills and techniques. I will start to explain approach and introduce mental aspects of the game. I’ll start to identify individual problems within each player and focus on fixing those problems.
Lesson 2-3Build on the fundamentals and start making adjustments to players natural abilities. For example, maybe work on proper prep step, glove position, throwing and fielding fundamentals, hitting form and technique.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIronically, my first lesson plan for advanced players is very similar to my beginning players. I like to evaluate the players natural abilities and set the ground rules and expectations at training.
Lesson 11+Keep building on all the things we’ve been working on continue to improve and develop the player’s skills.
Lesson 4-10Start using more advanced drills and fine tune players abilities. Identify and make corrections to player’s flaws. Pay more attention to minor details like footwork, arm slot, glove position, baseball IQ, and mental aspects of the game.
Lesson 2-3I like to build on the player’s natural abilities and work on fundamentals. Fundamentals is your foundation so I like to clean up and fine tune the players abilities from the ground up.

Youth players
Working with kidsI have over 10 years of coaching kids from teeball to 16U. For the younger kids, I try to keep my lessons fast paced so they don’t get bored and lose interest. I simplify my teachings, keep it fun, and use terminology that they can understand. I try not to get too technical.,

Working with teenagersFor the older kids, I teach more advanced techniques and drills. I work on both the mental approach and preparation to hitting and fielding. I teach the intangibles of the game like sportsmanship, hustle, discipline, focus, hard work, baseball IQ, teamwork, etc. I teach aggressive base running and work on footwork. Develop good arm care habits and much more.

What you need to bringBaseball Bat, Glove, Helmet, Hat, and Shoes

What I can bringTanner Tee, Hitting Net, Baseballs, Wiffle Balls, Weighted Balls, Home Plate, Ladder, Cones, and an Assortment of Hitting Tools ie. Camwood bat, Insider Bat, Rope Bat, etc.
