Hi, I’m Cruz! I’m a professional baseball player with experience competing in the United States and internationally in Austria. Baseball has opened the door for me to play at a high level, and it’s also given me the chance to share what I’ve learned with the next generation of players. I specialize in developing pitchers and hitters by focusing on fundamentals, mechanics, and confidence. Every lesson is tailored to the player, whether you’re working on throwing more strikes, adding velocity, improving your swing, or just building consistency at the plate. My coaching style is simple: I break things down clearly, keep the work fun, and push players to improve every session. Watching my students grow, gain confidence, and translate our work into in-game success is what drives me as a coach. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn a beginner baseball lesson, we’ll cover the basics so you can feel comfortable on the field. We’ll start with a quick warm-up, then work on throwing and catching fundamentals. From there, I’ll introduce fielding—ground balls and fly balls—so you learn proper glove work and positioning. We’ll also go over hitting mechanics, starting with the tee and moving into live tosses. Finally, I’ll show you how to run the bases correctly and explain simple game rules. By the end, you’ll have a solid foundation in all the core skills and know what to practice on your own
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIn an advanced lesson, we’ll go deeper into mechanics and game situations. We’ll refine your throwing with arm-care drills and advanced footwork, then move into defensive work like double plays, positioning, and reaction drills. On the hitting side, we’ll break down swing mechanics, work on situational hitting, and adjust for more power and consistency. For pitching, we’ll focus on grips, pitch sequencing, and mound presence. We’ll also cover baserunning reads, stealing technique, and game awareness. Each session is designed to sharpen your skills and prepare you to perform at a higher level in real games.
Youth players
Working with kidsIn a youth lesson, the focus is on fun, confidence, and learning the basics of baseball in an engaging way. We’ll start with a quick warm-up game to get moving, then work on throwing and catching with simple partner drills. Fielding is introduced with rolling grounders and easy pop flies, teaching kids to stay low and use two hands. For hitting, we’ll use a tee and soft toss to build good habits while keeping it fun. We’ll also practice running the bases with races and games. Each session ends with a short review and a fun challenge so players stay excited to come back.
Working with teenagersFor teens, lessons are about building strong fundamentals while pushing toward higher-level skills. We’ll warm up with mobility and arm-care, then work on throwing accuracy and strength. Fielding drills cover footwork, quick transfers, and tougher plays like backhands or double plays. At the plate, we’ll refine swing mechanics, add situational hitting, and build bat speed and power. We’ll also work on baserunning efficiency, leads, and stealing technique. Each session ties fundamentals to real game situations so players can apply what they learn directly in competition.
