Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFocus on building comfort, confidence, and fundamentals. Start by getting to know the player (experience level, goals, position interest). Introduce basic mechanics (grip, stance, throwing motion, or swing) in a simple, non-overwhelming way. Keep it fun and positive while emphasizing effort over perfection. End with a small success so they leave feeling confident.
Lesson 11+Training becomes more advanced and individualized. Emphasis on: β€’ Position-specific development β€’ Game-speed reps and live situations β€’ Mental approach and confidence β€’ Strengthening weaknesses and refining strengths Players should now be building toward game performance, with drills that simulate real in-game scenarios and decision-making.
Lesson 4-10Focus shifts to developing consistency and game application. Players will work on: β€’ Hitting timing and contact β€’ Defensive positioning and footwork β€’ Throwing accuracy and arm strength Introduce situational awareness (basic game IQ) and position-specific skills. Practices become more structured with repetition, challenges, and measurable improvement.
Lesson 2-3Players will begin reinforcing foundational skills like throwing mechanics, fielding basics, and hitting stance/load. Introduce simple drills to build consistency and coordination. Start correcting small mechanical issues while keeping things encouraging. Begin incorporating light competition or goal-based drills to build engagement.
