About your baseball coach

As a former professional baseball player with the Kansas City Royals & Pittsburgh Pirates organization, I bring real game experience and a deep passion for player development to every session. Baseball has shaped my life, and now my mission is to help athletes unlock their full potential, physically and mentally. My coaching style focuses on fundamentals, discipline, and high-level mechanics, especially for pitchers looking to increase velocity, improve command, and compete at an elite level. I combine modern tools like TrackMan, Rapsodo, and video analysis with a player-first approach that builds confidence, baseball IQ, and competitive mindset. Whether you’re just starting or chasing professional dreams, I’m here to push you, guide you, and help you grow on and off the field.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson focuses on evaluation and fundamentals. • Arm action and basic mechanics assessment • Mobility and movement screening • Proper warm-up and arm care introduction • Basic throwing mechanics and balance • Establishing goals and development plan The objective is to build a strong foundation while making the athlete feel confident and comfortable.
Lesson 11+Now we shift into performance development. • Advanced mechanical adjustments • Velocity progression tracking • Pitch development (fastball command, off-speed introduction) • Game simulation work • Competitive mindset training From this point forward, training becomes individualized and performance-driven, preparing the athlete for game situations and long-term development.
Lesson 4-10This phase focuses on development and measurable improvement. • Full delivery refinement • Introduction to velocity development drills • Strength and explosive movement integration • Command and strike-zone control • Mental approach and mound presence By this stage, pitchers will show visible mechanical improvements and increased consistency.
Lesson 2-3In these sessions, we begin building consistency. • Reinforcing proper throwing mechanics • Introduction to lower body engagement • Balance and posture drills • Basic command development • Arm care routine education Athletes will start to feel more control, better timing, and improved confidence on the mound.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThe first session focuses on a full performance evaluation. • High-speed mechanical analysis • Velocity baseline testing • Command and pitch movement assessment • Mobility and strength screening • Arm health evaluation • Goal setting based on competitive level Athletes leave with a clear development roadmap and performance benchmarks.
Lesson 11+Now training becomes competition-focused. • Advanced pitch design & tunneling • Game simulation scenarios • Situational pitching strategy • In-game adjustment training • Velocity maintenance & peak performance cycles • Recruitment/professional preparation guidance At this stage, sessions are highly individualized and built around maximizing competitive performance.
Lesson 4-10This phase is performance-driven and measurable. • Velocity development programming • Advanced delivery sequencing • Pitch design introduction (spin efficiency & movement profile) • Command under fatigue drills • Explosive strength integration • Mental performance training Athletes should see improved velocity, better command, and sharper pitch movement.
Lesson 2-3We begin implementing individualized adjustments. • Mechanical refinements for efficiency and power • Lower-half force production development • Advanced arm care protocols • Fastball command focus • Introduction to velocity progression work The emphasis is on optimizing movement patterns while maintaining arm health.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids, my priority is building strong fundamentals in a fun and encouraging environment. I focus on: • Proper throwing mechanics from the beginning • Basic balance and coordination drills • Safe arm care habits • Simple, easy-to-understand cues • Confidence building and love for the game Sessions are energetic, positive, and structured to keep young athletes engaged while learning correct movement patterns that will protect their arms long-term.

Working with teenagersWith teenagers, training becomes more structured and performance-oriented while still focusing on development and health. I emphasize: • Mechanical efficiency and consistency • Velocity development fundamentals • Strength and explosiveness integration • Strike-zone command • Mental toughness and competitive mindset For advanced teens, we begin introducing data tracking, pitch development, and game strategy to prepare them for high school varsity, college, and beyond.

What you need to bringPlayers should bring: • Baseball glove • Baseball cleats or turf shoes • Water bottle • Personal baseballs (if available) • Athletic clothing • Notebook (optional, for tracking progress and cues)

What I can bringRadar gun for velocity tracking • PlyoCare balls for arm care and velocity development • Resistance bands for warm-up and shoulder activation • Video analysis for mechanical breakdown • Weighted balls (used safely and progressively) • Cones and movement drills equipment • Strength & explosive training integration tools All sessions include structured warm-up routines, mechanical adjustments, and measurable progress tracking.
