Working with kidsI focus on creating a fun and supportive environment to foster their love for the game. My approach is grounded in patience, encouraging them to learn at their own pace while emphasizing the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and fundamentals. I break down each skill—like throwing, hitting, and fielding—into simple, digestible steps, using drills that are age-appropriate and engaging. I also make sure to give positive reinforcement, celebrate progress, and keep things lighthearted to ensure kids stay motivated and excited about learning the game.
Working with teenagersmy approach shifts to a balance of skill development and strategic understanding of the game. I focus on building on their existing knowledge and abilities while pushing them to refine their techniques. I emphasize the importance of discipline, consistency, and mental focus, helping them understand both the physical and mental aspects of the game. Drills are more challenging and tailored to their skill level, and I encourage self-awareness, communication, and teamwork. I also stress the value of perseverance, goal setting, and handling setbacks with a positive attitude, all while keeping the environment competitive yet supportive.
