Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is all about getting to know you, your goals, and your experience level. We’ll discuss the audition process, identify your strengths, and begin building confidence in front of the camera. You’ll learn foundational audition techniques, including script analysis, making strong acting choices, and how to present your authentic self in the room and on camera.
Lesson 2-3In lessons two and three, we begin applying techniques to audition material. Students learn how to break down scenes, connect personally to the material, make compelling choices, and respond truthfully in the moment. We also focus on self-tape fundamentals, camera awareness, and developing a professional audition mindset.
Lesson 4-10Students continue building their audition toolkit through scene work, mock auditions, self-tapes, and individualized coaching. We focus on strengthening confidence, consistency, emotional connection, and storytelling. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, whether they are preparing for auditions, pursuing professional opportunities, or developing their acting skills.
Lesson 11+As students advance, coaching becomes increasingly personalized. We refine audition technique, strengthen on-camera presence, and address specific challenges and goals. Students learn how to approach professional auditions with confidence, create stronger self-tapes, and develop the skills needed for long-term success in the industry.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson focuses on evaluating your current audition process, strengths, and areas for growth. We’ll work with actual audition material whenever possible, identify patterns that may be limiting your success, and develop strategies to create more specific, compelling, and authentic work. My goal is to help you bring your unique perspective into every audition.
Lesson 2-3We begin refining your approach to script analysis, preparation, and execution. Students learn how to make stronger choices, deepen emotional connection, and increase spontaneity while maintaining consistency. We also address the nuances of on-camera auditions, self-tapes, callbacks, and in-room auditions.
Lesson 4-10Students continue strengthening their audition technique through personalized coaching, mock auditions, and detailed scene work. We focus on elevating storytelling, improving camera presence, strengthening professional habits, and developing the confidence needed to compete at a higher level. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals and career path.
Lesson 11+Ongoing coaching is highly individualized and designed to support long-term growth. Students continue refining their craft, preparing for professional opportunities, and addressing specific audition challenges as they arise. Whether preparing for television, film, theatre, college auditions, or major callbacks, the focus remains on helping each actor consistently deliver authentic, memorable work.

Youth players
Working with teenagersI create a supportive, encouraging environment where teenagers can build confidence while developing strong acting and audition skills. Lessons are age-appropriate, engaging, and tailored to each student’s experience level. I focus on helping young actors connect authentically to material, trust their instincts, and develop the professionalism needed for auditions while keeping the process enjoyable and empowering.

Armand
Nikki Crawford is not only an incredibly gifted actress, but also an exceptional coach. She is one of those coaches who won’t let you settle for the "safe choice". She has an incredible eye for what feels extremely honest and deeply authentic, and she knows how to challenge you to go further without pushing you into something that feels forced or artificial. Working with her helped me uncover beats and possibilities in the material that I hadn’t initially seen, and she encouraged me to take risks that ultimately made the audition stronger and more specific. Even after one session, I walked away feeling more connected to the character, more confident in my work, and proud of the choices I made. Honestly, Nikki kind of scares me in the best way because I know I can’t fake my way through anything with her. She can spot a dishonest choice from a mile away, and she always pushes me back toward what’s real. Nikki brings both a wealth of experience and a genuine investment in helping actors do their best work, and I highly recommend her as an audition coach. - Armand Fields; Queer As Folk, Work in Progress, The Chi.

When Nikki came to my classroom to lead a master class for my advanced high school theatre students, they were thrilled to meet her after seeing her remarkable performance in Fat Ham at the Geffen Playhouse. Although many were initially hesitant to share their work, Nikki quickly put them at ease and created a space where they felt safe taking creative risks. As students grew more confident, she provided thoughtful, specific feedback they could apply immediately. Nikki’s training, experience, and natural gift for teaching make her an exceptional coach and mentor. David Metz, Ed.D., NBCT Theatre Teacher, Santee High School, LAUSD
