We will start with a quick intro of who I am and what I use Ableton for then we will figure out what made you want to learn Ableton.
I will show you around the workspace: session view vs arrangement view, Abletonโs browser, mixer, devices, tracks.
We will go over basic navigation; Zooming in/out, switching views, dragging loops or samples in, naming tracks, arming for record and soloing tracks.
Then we will go into dropping drum and melody loops into the session view for building basic beats and launching clips plus controlling the volume.
I will introduce you to the concept of MIDI, utilizing it to create MIDI clips for simple drum patterns.
Finally we will export a track so you leave with your first song made from scratch in Ableton!
For lessons 11+ I will teach you about collaboration and stems, exporting individual tracks to send out for collabs and remixes and tips for smoother collaborations.
I will give you an intro to mastering, creating your own mastering chain with Abletonโs built in audio devices.
I will help you identify what style of music you are drawn to and teach you fundamentals of said music genre aswell as showing you the fundamental sounds used for that genre
We will build a custom Ableton template with your go to sounds and workflow aswell as going over key mapping and shortcuts for efficiency.
Finally we will structure a whole track using all of the techniques I have taught you aswell as utilizing secret tips and tricks that I use in my own productions.
For lessons 4-10 we will start by going over common song structures, transitions and variations so you can start building your first full song.
We will dive into advanced sampling techniques, manual sample slicing versus simpler slicing, re pitching and formant tricks, time stretching tricks and layering samples with midi instruments
I will give you an intro to mixing with the goal being to learn balance, clarity and mix tools such as the EQ and Compressor.
To wrap that up, I will teach you the correct way to export, manage your files and how to finish and share your music.
