Many events take place in Apex, such as the Indoor Round Robin Tournament in August. In this fun tournament, each male and female player will be randomly paired with a different partner of the opposite gender for one game.
Raleigh
Raleigh, the state capital, is another significant hub for pickleball. With 14.71% of the coaches and 20.20% of the pickleball lessons booked in the state, Raleigh is a clear pickleball leader in North Carolina. Pin Point, is the largest indoor pickleball and golf facility in the United States. Pin Point Raleigh is opening in the summer of 2024. According to the website, the new complex will feature 16 indoor pickleball courts, eight indoor golf simulators, an indoor chipping and putting area, a full-service bar, pickleball pro shop and more. Charlotte
Charlotte currently has 8.82% of the coaches in the state and also accounts for 13.13% of the pickleball coaching lessons booked. As a major metropolitan area, Charlotte offers an abundant 202 courts and with plenty of opportunities for players to learn and improve their skills. For example, the Tipsy Pickle is set to open in Charlotte's Camp North End in summer 2024. This facility is a 35,000-square-foot space focused on all things pickleball and entertainment.
In addition, there are also talks of building the Southeast’s largest indoor pickleball complex in Charlotte. With these projects on the horizon, Charlotte is sure to be a major player in the pickleball landscape in North Carolina.

This city is steadily developing its pickleball community, providing ample opportunities for both new and experienced players. Recently this year, Anna Leigh Waters won her 100th career pickleball title in Cary.
Holly Springs
Holly Springs, another smaller city, makes a significant mark with 8.82% of the coaches and 11.11% of the lessons booked. In Holly Springs, new proposals have been made that would include a multi-generational indoor rec center, that includes pickleball courts, basketball courts and more. Currently there are 14 courts in Holly Springs, so as more people play the sport, it is no surprise that the city will strive to meet that demand.
Huntersville
Huntersville, with 5.88% of the coaches and 7.07% of the lessons booked, is steadily cultivating its pickleball scene. With the city currently having 14 pickleball courts at five different locations, it is no surprise that the Huntersville commissioners agreed to add two pickleball courts at Holbrook Park just a few months ago.
