Pickleball is rapidly gaining popularity across the United States, and Indiana is no exception. This exciting sport, which combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, has found a vibrant community in the Hoosier State. With 328 pickleball locations and counting, Indiana clearly loves to play the sport. Among the many locales witnessing this pickleball craze, certain spots in Indiana stand out for their burgeoning popularity. #### 1\. Indianapolis

In addition,  35.00% of the pickleball coaching lessons booked were at this location. There is already 163 pickleball courts here and that summer will soon increase as [The Picklr is set to host the grand opening](https://www.wthr.com/article/news/local/new-pickleball-club-to-open-indianapolis-north-side-the-picklr/531-1151677e-7587-47b1-9993-0901a49e13d9) of it's Keystone Crossing club this summer. The company said it will be the first of more than five clubs to open in the greater Indianapolis area.

A new pickleball location with eight pickleball courts will be opening in Carmel as [The Dink House](https://youarecurrent.com/2024/01/03/8-pickleball-courts-coming-to-former-fan-factory-building-in-carmel/) will be opening soon. The Dink House will be occupying 20,000 square feet of the space in the building previously home to the Horton Fan Factory.

Carmel shows a strong participation rate, suggesting that the local population is actively engaging in the sport. According to sources, Carmel is in the top 3 most popular places to play Pickleball in the state.

#### 3\. Fishers

The city's commitment to fostering a growing pickleball community is evident from these numbers. Fishers already has 43 pickleball courts and will soon have over 60 in town. A new location called [24/7 Dink is opening](https://www.wthr.com/article/money/business/small-business/fishers-24-7-dink-pickleball-facility-business/531-e3de5743-a820-496a-9c1b-3fa792a26be1) which is a 60,000 square foot facility will have 20 indoor pickleball courts and will be open year-round, 24 hours a day.

#### 4\. Greenwood

[Greenwood](https://teachme.to/browse/pickleball/indiana/greenwood), while smaller in terms of pickleball activity compared to the cities of Carmel and Fishers, still makes a significant mark with 6.67% of the coaches and 8.33% of the lessons booked. The City of Greenwood announced last fall that it plans to construct a pickleball facility at Freedom Park. The $1.3 million

building will be the largest pickleball complex in Johnson County and will consist of 16 pickleball courts. The venue will be able to host sanctioned, national pickleball tournaments which will only stir up more interest in the already popular sport.
